How can I protect selected cells with formulas but not protect the whole sheet in excel 2010. I have searched the forum but nothing I have found works. The whole sheet gets protected and a user cannot make changes anywhere
Thanks in advance

Sorry not sure what that means
SueMac,
If you only have a few cells to protect, then select the entire sheet -> right-click -> Format cells -> Protection. UNcheck the "Locked" checkbox - this will "unprotect" (basically deselect) all the cells, should you chose to protect your sheet.
Then, selecting only the cells you want protected, follow the above procedure, but this time, check the "Locked" box.
When you now apply password protection to your entire sheet, only the cells where you have selected "Locked" will be protected.
Brendan.
