    LOOKUP with multiple arrays

I have been stuck on this for a while.
I basically have to sum if multiple criterias are met.
Problem is that one of the criterias to match is a set of array itself.

    Ex.
I have 4 names Apple, Barry, Cathy and Doug
List of Regular items and Irregular items; along with random values attached.

I want to return the Total Value of Regular or Irregular items for those each of those names.
I prefer to have the array of items flexible so I wouldn't have to amend the formulas if something changes.

I tried MATCH but it does not work since the size of the arrays are not the same.
Closest I got was with LOOKUP, but it returns non exact matches.

    Many thanks

One way using a helper column could be this one.

    Re: LOOKUP with multiple arrays

    I see!
So we need to add a 'helper' column, I thought it was doable without the additional column.
    Thanks

I didnt look at Fotis's suggestion, but it seems we are both using helpers
