Calculating City to City -road miles

I want to enter one city and state and then another city and state and have the miles to show up as if you were driving from point a to point b. Is there a way to have this happen in excel?


Example:
a1= houston tx
b1= jacksonville fl
c1= 872

I can get this information from here

Can I make excel automate this process and retrieve the results

You need to find a table of distances between cities and then use match and lookup functions - or a table of GPS references for cities and calculate the differences.

http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0001796.html gives latitude and longitude for a lot of cities - add more as you need and calculate the a to b distances.

This gives road miles between cities - several tables so you will need to combine them. If you have regular destinations not on here use your map to get the mileage and insert in the tables.
