The function I gave you is very versatile - it can be used with VBA code or as an UDF in the worksheet as I demonstrated - You could even turn it into an add-in if you don't want a module in your project. But to construct a formula for this task is not in my area of expertise yet - Good Luck!

I have a copy of "Excel 2003 Power Programming" by John Walkenbach which I procured from Amazon for only $20 - I bought that recently. Before that I used "Writing Excel Macros" by Steven Roman and that's the book I used for over a decade.
