Save calculated results in cells not thge formulas used to calculate them

I programmed a number of cells with formulas. The cells now display the calulated results of the formulas, but if I try to cut and paste the cells into a new spreadsheet, or use the cells in a mail-merge with Word, Excel wants the information from the cells that were used to program the cells with the formulas. I want to save the information produced by the formulas not the formulas themselves.
