Search an entire column for a value, return entire row.

I am having a problem with this particular formula.

What I have is a list of door labels in column "A". in columns B,C,D are further descriptors to the location of the key for the door in column "A".

EXAMPLE:

A B C D
Door Key Box Peg
14221 1*** 1 23
18411 4*** 1 27


What I am attempting to do is create a formula so that if I type in a value in the cell to the left of the formula cell, it will display all the data related to that search. For example, If i type the door number in cell A9, in cell A10 i want it to display the value in the corresponding cell in column "B". so if i type in "14221" in cell "A9", then in cell "A10" it should display "1***", and in "A11" it should display "1", and in cell "A12" it should display "23". However likewise, if i type in "18411" in cell "A9", it should display in cell "A10" "4***", and in "A11" "1", and in "A12" "27". Any advice?

Ultimately I need to have it search column A which could potentially exceed 100 rows, and whenever it finds the value in "A", display the corresponding values from columns "B","C",and "D". Hopefully I have explained this well enough. PLEASE HELP!!

I think you may need to use VLOOKUP function if i understand you clearly. Do you mind posting a sample spreadsheet with an example?

Actually, I had just figured out the formula about an hour ago. It is almost identical to yours only my data runs horizontally rather than vertical.
