Extract data from one workbook and populate a separate workbook

I have a worksheet that is approx 225 x 15. I would like to take the first 30 or so rows and have them populate a different workbook. That way when I enter data in the original worksheet, the second workbook will reflect the new data.

New data gets entered in the top of the spreadsheet, so of the 225 rows, I want the second workbook to continually reflect the first 30. Thus, the second workbook will display a simple picture of all the new data entered.

Another catch, I only want to display 8 of the 15 columns.

In a nutshell, this is taking a spreadsheet that is updated daily, and showing a "snapshot" of the upper portion in a new workbook, simplified with less columns.

I would put my self somewhere between a beginner and intermediate w/ excel, so if there are multiple complexities of solutions, please try to use a simple one. Thank you!

P.S., I am unable to upload a sample, but I believe I explained it thoroughly.

With the source workbook open, create the 2nd workbook (file New). Select A!:O30. Enter the formula ='FirstWookBookname'!$A$1 and press ctrl+enter. that should block fill the snapshot area. Close the snapshot file.
Change the source file. Open the snapshot, accept the offer to update if given.

So long as insertions in tha master are made with the snapshot closed, it should always do wjat you asked.
