Question A simple formula for pricing

    Hello fellow Excel users,

I'm a basic excel user and am now pushing into the area of using formulas for a data matrix I'm building at work. I'm not a math guy and can't find ready-made formulas for what I want to do. Hoping someone can guide me a bit here.

I have three price columns: List (G), Cost (H) and Sale (I).

    I need to calculate I.

    The formula would be: I = H +46%.

    If the result I > G, then I would determine I with the formula I = G-5%.

It's simple enough with a calculator, but I'd like to build this into my spreadsheet. Any help would be very appreciated.

    All the Best,
    agent46

    try this...
    =if(H1*1.46>G1*.95,G1*.95,H1*1.46)

(Hope I got that the right way round, if not swap them)
it it based on a very basic if() statement, the sytax for that is..
    =if(criteria-to-test,what-to-do-if-test=TRUE,what-to-do-if-test=FALSE)
