    Tell whether a cell is Blank or No - when linking two Excel Files

    Hi...

    My query is a simple one but I am totally stuck with this

    I am a beginner with excel formulas hence some help needed.

    Q) If the value in the required cell is "Blank" then it should return the value Blank to me and if it has anything written in that cell then it should follow my further COUNTIF formula.

    As easy as this one!!!

    I am not able to make my sheet recognize if that cell is empty or has any kind of data in it.

    Imp thing is.. that I am typing the formula in one worksheet and it need to pick the data from another excel Worksheet. Its like.. M creating a dashboard for all my excel sheets so that I can check in One Go where the count differs and then update those files accordingly.

    Thus trying to link the 2 files.

    Any help will be Appreciated.

    Thanks
    Lin

    @martindwilson

    This worked.. this time.. I have been trying the same formula for some time now but was not getting the desired result

    After many unsuccessful attempts I finally posted it.. & see... now the same formula works !!!!

    I think this formula just wanted to test my patience ... :P

    Thank you for your help.
