Changing the font type in the data validation drop down list

What I want to be able to do is put a Tick symbol inside the data validation drop down box. I found the symbol in the windings font but I can't seem to change the font of the actual drop down list.

I have searched all over the internet and the general consensus seems to be that it is not possible to change the font of the data validation lists. I was hoping someone here may have a solution to the problem.

In cells F6:F39 G6:G39 H6:H39 I6:I39 J6:J39 K6:K39 I want to select either a tick symbol, 1, 2, 3 or 4.

It is not possible to change the font in a data validation drop-down. However, you could use a combo-box instead, and then you can change the font, width, number of items displayed etc. Debra Dalgleish shows how here:

but the code does not work with the list in anather sheet.
