Need help with traffic light conditional formatting icon set

So I am attempting to configure the 4 traffic light icon set in Outlook 2010 and I believe I need to enter a custom function for it to achieve what I need. Essentially I need each icon to display when a certain criteria is met. My current formula is as follows however it is not working. Any help is greatly appreciated.

="AND(G2>1000, Red, IF(G2<=1000,>500, Yellow, IF(G2<=500,>250, Green, IF(G2<=250, Black) ) ) )"

Have a look at the picture attached, for the 4 traffic icons. I'm not sure about changing the colours as you require.

Thanks Kevin. Seems I was WAY over thinking this. I have never used the traffic icons so this was a new adventure for me. Your help is appreciated. I have it squared away now.

FYI, to change the colors as needed you can simply click the little arrow next to the individual icon itself and then select a new one. Again, much appreciated.
