#Value error when using INDEX and MATCH to reference a cell

    HI,

I have searched the forums and tried some things but without success.

I am attempting to match a cell referenced within a range in worksheet within the same workbook based on today's date. I think i have everything set up but it now gives me the #value, and after trying a number of things, cannot get the desired data. Any hints, tips, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the worksheet, i must mention i am working on a Mac Excell 2011.

P.S. Loving this forum....just discovered it and spent 2 hours wandering around!! Timehole!

    Regards,

    willow,

Welcome to the forum. Your MATCH lookup value: Dashboard!C9+Trainingcalendar!C9 looks strange - is the "+Trainingcalendar!C9" really meant to be there?
    Brendan.

Here are some links for cell referencing, you will need to understand them when you copy & drag formulas:

    http://web.pdx.edu/~stipakb/CellRefs.htm

    http://www.myonlinetraininghub.com/e...e-missing-link

The dollar key is the number 4 key: SHIFT + 4 (Key)

Hi Kevin, thanks for the links. I was just wondering if the formula MATCH or INDEX required Absolute or Relative Cell Referencing....and as mentioned my Shift + 4 key is a € not a dollar sign as i have a european keyboard and set up
