Sumif Formula Assistance need to calculate vacation/illnes hours

I'm trying to complete a spreadsheet to figure out vacation, illness, etc. days.

I have a drop down box with for sunday-saturday:

I'm trying to return the sum of Illness, vacation, accumulated days for Sunday-Saturday in a individual column. I need the formula to distinguish between I, V, AD etc. can someone please help it will be greatly appreciated.

Your sample sheet is missing sample data WITH sample results you've entered manually and flagged as the fields you're trying to automate.

I'd expect you should fill in 5-10 examples to demonstrate all the "varieties" of issues that you can envision trying to do this math.
