    Percentages in excel

How would I find the percentage of 1 cell compared to another? For example my target sales are 175 and my actual sales are 157 and I want to find what the actual percentage of the target is. I know that in theory I could put in the formula to divide the lower number by the higher number then times it by 100. However I have a really big worksheet and not all of the lower numbers are in the same column.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The percentage will be actual/target - no need to multiply by 100, and it doesn't matter if actual is larger than target. If your target was 175 and you achieved 200 then the result will be greater than 100%.

    Hope this helps.

So this becomes the real difficulty with something like this. Do you have enough control over the spreadsheet layout to rearrange it so it will be easier to copy/paste a formula? Is there some kind of pattern to or rationale for the current arrangement that we can use?
