Talking Countifs with a date as a condition

    Howdy,

I am having a little trouble with countifs and multiple criteria including a date. I have a set of data with the work division, rank, and date of rank. I need a formula to only count the rank if it is within a year of the date I write in a particular cell. I have an example of what I am having trouble with.

I think a sumproduct might work if only two conditions, but I have 3 conditions I'm looking at. The divison the employee works, the rank of the employee, and the date of rank of the employee.

    Thanks for any help.

Just so you know... you're profile says you are using Excel 2003. COUNTIFS isn't implemented in 2003.

I am using 2010 Excel. I updated my profile. Countifs may be the best fit. But I am up for suggestions.

Try this in F3, then paste into G3 and H3:

    =SUMPRODUCT(($A$2:$A$20=F2)*($B$2:$B$20="Employee")*(DATEDIF($C$2:$C$20,$M$4,"d")<365))

    Hi nickmessick1

If you are using excel 2010 as you say in post #3, then you can use COUNTIFS!
