    if then statement for finance

    Hello. This might be easy but I can't figure it out. I want to place a dollar amount in a cell and then use an if statement (I think) based on the value of that cell. So, if the cell is equal to $42.55 or more, than value is $642 million. If it less than or equal to $38.00 then the value is $0. If it is between $38.00 and $42.55, you take the difference between $42.55 and $38.00, multiply that by 140,000 million and subtract that total from $642 million. I hope that makes sense. Thank you.

    Try this:

    =IF(A2<=38,0,IF(A2>=42.55,642000000,642000000-(42.55-A2)*140000000))

    Hope this helps.
