    Automatically convert number to percentage

    Hi all,

This is probably very basic but it is driving me nuts .
Please see attached file, I am trying to automatically convert a value into a percentage from a fixed total.

    Any help appreciated, thanks.

Unfortunately it needs a macro to do what you're trying to do ... like this one:

I've added it to your example workbook.

Thumbs up Re: Automatically convert number to percentage

Amazing, I would never have worked that out, and here was me thinking it would be simple. Well it is if you know what you are doing.

    Thanks

Re: Automatically convert number to percentage

Would someone help me convert a fraction to a decimal number in a separate column. I've copied and pasted what I want. I did not know how to attach the sample workbook.
New to this forum stuff. Thanks much.

    Ad Size Decimal Number
We sell ads in a monthly magazine.
1/8 We sell ad sizes that are either:
    1/2
full Full or full = 1
    1/2 1/2 = 0.5
    1/2 1/4 = 0.25
    1/4 1/8 = 0.125
    1/2 Out or out = 0
    Full
    1/2
    1/4
1/2 What I would like to know is how
out to convert the fraction to a
1/2 decimal in a separate column
1/4 and then I can sum the decimals column at the end.
    1/4
    1/8
    1/8
    1/8
    Out
    1/4
    1/2
    1/2
    1/4
