Formula to search a column for a specific value, and return the value in the next cell

Hi. I'm going to do my best to articulate what I'm trying to do here.

I have a multi-sheet workbook with data on tab 2 that is set up to populate a yes/no in column A depending on if certain info is input on the first tab (A11:A70) . What I want to do is make it so A73:A175 (on 1st tab) searches for a "yes" in column A of my 2nd tab, and if it finds a "yes", then returns the value to the right. So if I find a "yes" in A1 it will display the value in B1.

I'm looking to make cells A73:A175 on the first sheet essentially make a list of the values to the right (column B) of every "yes" on the second tab (Potential Docs).

Can any gurus give me a hand with this?

I've attached a draft of what I'm working on.

I can't wait to see how to do this, as I've been messing with different things for a while now.

    Thanks - TD

See what you think of this:SAMPLE-Closeout Deliverable Checklist.sol1.xlsx

I had to Un-merge the cells from Row 72 down, and changed the Column headers to make it a single formula rather than 5 different ones

    Hope this helps
A picture may be worth a thousand words, BUT, a sample Workbook is worth a thousand screenshots!

dredwolf you did it! Thanks a lot. Wow that is a complex formula and beyond my skills.

I find myself more and more in need of more advanced excel skills, do you think my best bet is taking some classes at the local college?

Thank you, and you are welcome!
Taking classes can only help, as can reading through the solutions presented here and other sites, try out a few of the formulas for your self and see if you can figure them out, and break them down...the evaluate formula tool under the formula tab on the ribbon bar, is an immense help for this ! I use it constantly, especially on some of the more complex formulas...we all get lost sometimes
