    use several cells from differnt areas as one row (or column)

    Dear experts,

    let us have several cells from different areas containing numbers. I would like to use these numbers as in one row (or column).

    Example: A3 B3 and C4 are filled with numbers. It there a quick command line formula to view these cells are beeing in one row (or column) ?

    Many thanks, Miro

    Re: use several cells from differnt areas as one row (or column)

    Hi,

    thanks for the post, but I would need to keep the order of cells - A3,B3,C4 - in a one-row(column) formula. The proposed SMALL function in zour example sorts the cell values, and this not wanted...

    Not sure what you are trying to do, a sample of your actual workbook would help.

    See if this workbook helps you.

    Re: use several cells from differnt areas as one row (or column)

    Hi Marcol,

    thanks for your formula suggestion which works;

    the idea is to "straigten" broken row (which is splitted over 2 areas) into one compact row (see fresh attachement);

    BTW, isn't there a way to simplify formulas of these types ?

    =IF(COLUMNS($B:D)>COUNT($B16:$C16;$D15:$E15);"";MID(SUBSTITUTE(" "&$B16&" "&$C16&" "&$D15&" "&$E15;" ";REPT(" ";255));255*COLUMNS($B:D);255)*1)

    Best, Miro

    I'm still not sure as to what you are trying to do.

    If any column can only have one value, then you could add the two, or more ranges to get a single array, or simply sum the columnns.

    See this workbook.
