    Text Clean up and Comparison

    Good Morning:

    Cell a:1 in table one contains 'B-11'. Cell b:1 in a seperate table contains B-11. Difference is that b:1 item does not have the two apostrophes. Need to use lookup of these two items.

    Perhaps a formula in cell b:2 in table one that deletes the two apostrophes? Is there such a formula.

    The number of characters can change. But the apostrophes are always the first and last character.

    Try the SUBSTITUTE function to get rid of unneeded characters like = SUBSTITUTE(A1,"'","") and use this as the look up value
