Need max of a range that meets criteria like SUMIF. Have dropdown selecting month and strand from daily data. For summary need max of field that meets the criteria.

How about =if(Critera_Test, then Max(), else nothing) an example sheet would help...

Red face Re: MAX (IF) to be used like SUMIF. Need max of a range that meets criteria.

I am sending a spreadsheet. The selection criteria and the data. I need the max of Data column P when Column D = SelectionCriteria K3. The drop down boxes change K3.Example.xlsx

Take a look at the attached and see if it gives you what you need.

The formula is an array formula so if you edit it be sure to hold down crtl+shift and then press enter. If it worked the formula will have { } around it in the formula bar.

Good Luck and I hope this helps.

That worked thank you very much. One more question please.

When I typed in the formula it did not work I have to copy yours and edit. How do you create an array formula?

Did you use the ctrl+shift+enter after you typed in the formula? That makes it an array formula.

    Hope this helps
