    Negative Power Square Roots

    Hi,

Apolgies if this seems daft, I have been looking around with not much joy.

I would like, in excel to be able to enter a negative square root function.

On my calculator I can in effect type -1.6^SQRT(0.1) = -0.237 The function is labelled as a power root.

I cannot find a way to replicate this in Excel.

Can anyone help or point me in the right direction.

What does that calculation mean? You can't raise a negative number to a non-integer power, unless you're using complex numbers.
