Trying to sum multiple criteria, criteria on the X and the Y axis

    Hi there

I am trying to use sumproduct to do this- done it before in the past but can't remember what I did to make it work!

I am trying to calculate a year to date amount but the year to date will change based on what month it is.

    Current Month:

Budget Month Actuals Year to Date
    Cookies 10000 1753 ???
    Cakes 15000 793 ???
    Chocolate 15000 2642 ???
    Fruit 9000 615 ???

    Current Year Actuals:
    Apr 12 May 12 Jun 12 Jul 12 Aug 12 Sep 12 Oct 12 Nov 12 Dec 12 Jan 13 Feb 13 Mar 13
    Cookies 1523 1753 1983
    Cakes 1023 793 563
    Chocolate 2412 2642 2872
    Fruit 502 615 402

So in the year to date column, I want a sum of all the cookie sales up to the date criteria chosen above (using text value dates and drop down menu based on those dates so it didn't get mucky with date format and serials). Will want the same for the cakes, chocolate and fruit sales.

Yes this isn't real data. This is just for fun though I have used it in my job in the past and will in the future. I was just trying to practice and refresh my memory.

I was pretty sure I used sumproduct before to do it but maybe that's the problem?

    Any help is appreciated.
