    Generate exact SUM

    Hello,

    Can someone help me with this problem?
    I have to change either quatity (but has to remain a fix number) or Price to generate this SUM: 4,527,80
    But i can't get that numer exacly, i keep generating a SUM that has few decimals + or -, like: 4527,874 or 4527,786 but never 4,527,80.
    Can someone teach me how to do this?

    Pls change your title according the rule 1 of our forum.

    Hi!
    Thanks, but I don't know what to do with that. I don't think that adding a percent symbol/currency symbol helps me.
    I need to generate this exact amount 4,527,80 on both Excel and regular desk computer.

    Can you be more specific please? I am a beginner.

    One more time.

    Look the format in C23. In C23 you have a formula. The format of the cell is the one that gives you the correct result.

    I wrote in cell C23 the total that I should have in C21.

    Ok so I went on the Formating Tab on C23 and saw that you have selected CUSTOM and type: _-* #.##0,00 "€"_-;-* #.##0,00 "€"_-;_-* "-"?? "€"_-;_-@_-
    I don't know that to do with that.
    I tried to set the same formating to C21 and it gives me : 4.527,87 €

    It still does not give me this result: 4,527,80
    And also my PRICE is in $

    I just need to change some of the values in price or quatity. This table is an test Invoice.

    Fotis, you are amazing with excel and I really appreciate ur help.
    I read about the round function but is not helping me since the total amounts have to generate 4,527,80 on a desk calculator!. Rounding them in excel is not helping me.
    I need to change the amounds to generate this fix total 4,527,80 not to round it up.
    I am using excel to calculate them more easily but at the end, after I print this table, the SUM 4,527,80 has to generate on a regular desk calculator too.

    Am I making any sense?

    Hi demona,

    In the USA we use a decimal point for cents and a comma for the thousand separator. I think that is reversed for other countries. In your example of 4,537,80 you have two commas. Does that mean 4 thousand, 5 hundred thirty seven and 80 cents? The separator symbol always needs to go after groups of 3. You have it start after a group of 2 which really confuses me.

    Are you working with money? Is the ,80 really cents?

    I did it. I manualy changed the amounts until I got the correct result...

    Oh, you are correct Marvin, I forgot about comma and point. In my country we use only comma. The amount I was talking about is: $4,527.80
    I used comma by habit. Sorry!
