Splitting cell contents based on Comma and inserting new rows below it.

    Hello everybody,

I actually found my answer but I need to figure out how to modify it to my needs. I found this site from this thread and it works perfectly but my dilemma is this:

    My data looks like:

    Column A Column B Column C
    DataA DataB DataC, DataC2, DataC3

The formula does a fine job splitting it but it copes contents from the other columns when inserting new rows for DataC2 and DataC3. I just want to insert a new row and put in DataC2 in C2 and DataC3 in C3. That's it.

I hope I explained it right.

    Thank you

Could you send an actual sample? of the data and the desired result?

That's a great macro, you might find this is a little quicker, and possibly easier to adapt if your needs change:

I should add, this isn't necessarily the quickest solution either...!

If you feel really indebted please consider a donation to charity. My preferred charity is ActionAid but there are plenty of worthy alternatives.

rcm, When I pressed the button nothing happened to the sheet

Cheeky Charlie's code worked flawlessly though!

None the less, Thank you all for the quick help!
