Changing Cell value based on Dropdown selection

I have a cell with a dropdown list using data validation. What I would like is that depending on the selection, the cell values adjacent to the dropdown would change. I have on Sheet2 a table like this:

    Engine Fuel
    engine1 fuel1
    engine2 fuel2
    engine3 fuel3
    fuel4

If I selected Engine from the drop down list (J3), Cells K3 and onward would have engine1, engine2, and engine3 as their values
Similarly, if I selected Fuel from the drop down list, Cells K3 and onwards would have fuel1, fuel2, fuel3, and fuel4 as their values. Any help would be appreciated.

That's awesome! Except...just one quick question...Is there any way to change the cell value without the second dropdown list (the one that has engine1, engine2, engine3...fuel1, fuel2 etc). Thanks!

I'm not quite sure what you mean but if you don't want the second drop down you can
    a) delete it
    b) Cut and paste J2:J4 to a more prominent display area

Re: Changing Cell value based on Dropdown selection

    Hi Guys, similar help required

I have a dropdown list using data validation to select a year e.g.
    Please select a date:
    2013/14
    2014/15
    2015/16 and so on.

Underneath I then have a table which has the same dates going across the row. I would like to auto populate that row depending on what start date was chosen via user input. So in theory:
User selects 2015/16 -----> this then causes the row underneath to auto-populate starting with 2015/16 then 2016/17, 2017/18 etc..

I would bevery greatful for some assistance.
