Alternative to sumifs for large sheet

Hey All

My excel

Sheet 1Sheet 2

A B A B
Banana 1 Banana "sum"
Banana 2 Apple
Apple 3
Orange 5
..... xx

My problem: I need to sum the value in B based on the values in A. Ex banana should equal 3.

I used sumifs/sumif and it works perfectly, but do to the fact that i have +30.000 rows makes it very slow to update

Is it possible to use index match or sumproduct? Anyway i cant make either work.
