Smile Help to compare two columns on two spreadsheets and return info if matching

    Hello,

I am trying to create a spreadsheet that will lookup miles traveled in spreadsheet 1 column A. And if that name of place matches the same name in Spreadsheet 2, it will post the miles traveled field from Spreadsheet A into the corresponding named place in Spreadsheet B.
In spreadsheet A the places are in Column A and miles are in same row Column B.
The names are not exact, so the field must state "if contains text" rather than "exact match"

I have two spreadsheet with information that I want to compare and return if matches.
In sheet`1 i have column A "City Name", and column B contains Miles.
On sheet 2 I have column A "City Name" and in Column B I want to extract the Miles from those in Sheet 1 that match the city on Sheet 2.
    Thanks

I have attached the file if anyone wants to try it.

    Thank YOU !!!!!!

How do you expect Excel to know the difference between "Whole Foods Market 2905 Pearl St Boulder, CO" and "Whole Foods Market 2905 Pearl St Boulder, CO"?

I think you have to rewrite the names in the name list shorter but still unique, like make "Ozo Coffee Co Boulder Co from Gem Show Denver" into "Ozo", hence you could search for Ozo within another longer text.
