identifying multiple text and compiling values

    Hi to all,

I would need some help in simplifying calculation of inventory.

    COLUMN E F

    PRODUCT A 20
    PRODUCT B 10
    PRODUCT C 10

eg. i need to count Product A which can occur multiple times throughout the whole worksheet.

I currently have 612 rows of 100 different types of products which i need to tally for my monthly stock take. it is very tedious searching for a particular product that can be on any line as COLUMN E is not in sequence. i currently do a search and manually tally the amount and my boss is killing me!

    Cheers for your attention!

    You can use various formulas.

However If I were in your place, id sort the data and use "Sub-Total" that comes under the Data tab on the Ribbon.
    Cheers!

Re: identifying multiple text and compiling values

    Hi,

I've perhaps did not explain myself well enough.

    I've attached the excelsheet.

Under the Worksheet " Racking "

it is a floor plan as well as a inventory sheet.
for eg, i would need to find a particular model and their total amount that can be scattered all across the racks, would it be possible for a function to solve this?

ie. if i use SWF04701SPOU, i need to know quickly the amount of stocks on hand as well as the position on the racks.

wish i could rearrange all the materials but sadly its very heavy and tedious for the forklifts!

Cheers for the 2 replies before!

    Thanks!

haha, i dont really have a choice.

The sheet is actually a floor plan as well so i can quickly get important information on the location and the amount of pieces asap.
