Count of Multiple Criteria Across Columns

    Hi Everyone -
Im completely new here - first post, so dont bite.

What im looking to do is get a count of items that are dependent across columns. For example: I have various Job Titles in Column A, and various Status in Column B.

I need to know how many times there is a Facilities Manager (Column A) at Rejected (Column B).

Ive been working with SUMPRODUCTS, but the totals dont accurately reflect what is in the raw data, so i think im missing something here.

This is what i currently have.

    =SUMPRODUCT(('2013 Candidates'!F2:F500="Facilities Manager")*('2013 Candidates'!M2:M500="Rejected"))

    Thanks for any help!

    ..=SUMPRODUCT(('2013 Candidates'!F2:F500="Facilities Manager")*('2013 Candidates'!M2:M500="Rejected"))
    Perhaps..

    =SUMPRODUCT(('2013 Candidates'!A2:A500="Facilities Manager")*('2013 Candidates'!B2:B500="Rejected"))

Re: Count of Multiple Criteria Across Columns

    Hi and thank you!

No, actually the columns are correct, i was just using A & B as an example. But in my actual document the conditions lie in F & M.

Should have been more clear about that!

Ive added an attachment to clarify.

On the Raw Data tab, ive got 2 Facilities Managers with a CV Screen status.

However, on the summary tab (green cell) the formula is returning a 0 count.

    Any assistance is MUCH appreciated.
    Cheers!

go to the "Dropdown" sheet & change the spelling of "Facilites Manager". you missed out an "i". "Facilities Manager". then change the values in column F of "Raw Data" too.

Try to use cell referencing rather type them in your formula because typo error will not give you the right answer, i attached the file edited one, your facilities manager was different from the raw data.
