How do I use Combo box selection to determine formula used?

Hi, I am trying to produce a result from using different formulas as determined by combo box selection.

I have tried unsuccessfully & am unable to find a solution.

The combo box will have a choice of 40+ & will expand in the future. The math is different for most but not all from the combo box however the choice must be individual.

I have attached an example file with the current version & that I desire.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Instead of a combo box make use of Data>>Validation>>List method.

I have used Data Validation in the selection column (looks much cleaner on final sheet too ), however, how does the selection effect formula used in "J" column?

i.e if "a" is selected from "A8" math from "J3" will occur & if "b" is selected from "A8" math from "J4" will occur. How do I do this?
