Formula in Cell Displays but not the Result

    Hello All,

    I'm using Excel 2010

Using the REPLACE function in Cell D4 to drop the first four characters from the string in Cell D3 and display it in D4.

    =REPLACE(D3,1,4,"")

When I look at the function arguments, the dialog box shows the correct result and the formula seems to be working. The D4 cell (and column) doesn't display the results though. It just displays the formula.

Help says to use Ctrl + ` to toggle between displaying the formula and the results, however that shortcut actually just toggles between show and hide columns.

Also, I have not locked or protected the formulas since I'm still working on the sheet. Does anyone know why this particular column will not display the function results? All my other formula columns display results with no problems.

    Thanks in Advance.

Format the cell as General, then RE-Enter the formula.
