Question Fulltime Employees (FTEs) Total Hours Minus (-) Holidays

    Hi,

I have a range called, "Holidays", which represents the primary US Holidays.

I would like to calculate FTEs forecasted hours minus the holidays.

I tried this, but it doesn't work:

    =K35*40,Holidays)

What's a good function to do this?

    Thanks

Maybe the WORKDAYS function ? ( native to 2007 and later or Analysis Toolpack earlier xl versions)

(Always a good idea to fill in your XL version in your info)

Re: Fulltime Employees (FTEs) Total Hours Minus (-) Holidays

    Hi,

    How would that work?

In Cell, K35, I have 2 FTEs staffed.

Assuming no holiday during the week, this would equal 80. If there was a holiday, I would lose 16 hours or only 64 work hours would be available.

I'm assuming that the "Holiday" date range, like in Networdays can be used in some way, except, I'm pointing a single cell - In this case - Total FTEs available.

What's a good function to do this?

    Thanks

    Hi Group,

What needs to be fixed to make this function or intent work?

    =K35*40,Holidays

K35 - Represents the number of Full Time Employees (FTEs) - For this example 2

    40 = Standard Work Week

    Holidays - Standard US Holidays

What's a good function to get this intent?

    Thanks

    Hi,

It took a little work but I got it!!

The following seems to work well.....

    =NETWORKDAYS(L34,L35,F_n_C_Holidays)*(8*L36)

    Thanks for the guidance.
