    Hey all!

I have two tables of data. I2:I37 (text) + J2:J37 (number).

How can i find in the range J2:J37 a cell reference: in this case L2 in the range, then once found copy the cell adjacent to it from the I2:I37 range?

Im total stumped, ive tried IF / VLOOKUPs to no evail!

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hi Nneakz

You were right - the explanation did confuse. However the spreadsheet explains all.

    Here is one solution.

Caution - it will only find the initials of the first occurrence, so any equal (ties) will not work.

    Hello,

You can try a simple INDEX MATCH, for example paste this formula in M2

And drag it down to M6.

Similarly this one for O2 to O6
