SUMIF by Date - SUMIF by Date = #VALUE when linked worksheet not open

Any thoughts on how I can convert this

    =(SUMIF([FML_LIVE.xls]Database!$10:$10,">"&$B23,[FML_LIVE.xls]Database!$27:$27)-SUMIF([FML_LIVE.xls]Database!$10:$10,">"&$B24,[FML_LIVE.xls]Database!$27:$27))/4

    into SUMPRODUCT.

    Where B23 and B24 are dates i.e 1 july 2010 and 30 june 2011

    Thanks in advance
