Highlighting cells based on IF THAN statement

I want to be able to type a word in one cell and it highlight predetermined cells, based on the word typed. For example, if I type continental, all the items I possible could need for a contiental event would highlight. A step further, if someone types a word in O4 that is not acceptable, it would be nice if a popup would alert them as to what words are acceptable. Is this possible with excel 2007? Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi and welcome to the forum

From the sounds of it, you need to look into using Conditional Formatting for the colors and an IF() statement for the warning...or you could use Data Validation to prevent them from entering the wrong data in the 1st place?

However, please do not upload a picture of your file...rather, upload a sample of your workbook, showing what data you are working with, a few samples of your expected outcome is (manually entered is ok) and how you arrived at that. (exclude sensitive info)
