Extracting Data Based on Yes or No answer

    Hi

Can someone help with the following problem, I am unsure what the best solution could be to solve the problem when adding hazards to a list in a different sheet if the users select yes. Would a Vlookup work or will I have to create a Macro (I don’t have any experience with macros, so this could be difficult)

When user selects “Yes” from dropdown list in List of Haz sheet, it add’s the co-responding type of hazard to list in Risk Assessment sheet (Type of Hazard D5:D30) and also adds Category of Hazard (highlighted in yellow in List of Haz Sheet)to Category of Hazard list C5:C30 in Risk Assessment sheet.

    MASTER BLANK Risk Assesment.xlsx

I seen a similar example using =IFERROR(INDEX(“”””) but I could not get it work,

does anyone have ideas what could be best solution for this problem

    Any help is greatly appreciated

    thanks

Attached is a solution. I created a new sheet which has your list in one continuous table. Much of designing good formulas is to have the data in a 'friendly' lay out. Splitting the table makes things more difficult.

Then I used this formula for Type of Hazard:

Note that it is looking for an 'x' in your sheet. This is entered with cntrl-shift-enter, since it is an array formula. A similar formula was used for the next column.
