how to calculate the total absences within a year per month

guys please do help me on how to calculate the number of absences within a year per month that would return the following value:

jan = leave within the day =6; sick leave = 2; advance leave = 1
feb = leave within the day =0; sick leave = 2; advance leave = 0
mar = leave within the day =1; sick leave = 0; advance leave = 1
april = leave within the day =0; sick leave = 0; advance leave = 1
may = leave within the day =0; sick leave = 1; advance leave = 4

i need the computation for the attendance monitoring of every employee in our company that has filed leave, it's either "leave within the day" or "sick leave" or "advance leave"
