    Formula with Merge Cells

    I want to multiply merge cells with adajcent cell value. Suppose merge cell need to multiplied with 3 values in 3 different cells.Its multiplied only with 1st Value and not rest.

    The actual value shown in a merged cell is the contents of the cell in the upper left of the merged cell range. All actions involving the merged cells are actually actions involving the cell in the upper left position of the merge range.

    if you are using the same merged cell for the calc each time, then use absoluting to "fix" that cell. If your merged cells are A1:C1, then use =$A$1*E1

    However, I would advise against using merged cells at all, they cause more trouble than they are worth

    Hi,
    Thanks for replying. The absolute reference ($)will work with one set of cells but there are many set of cells so I cannot use absolute reference.
