    Possible Sumproduct or similar issues

Hi - before I start thanks for looking and also thanks for any advice you may be able to give.

My company has a weighbridge which records dates, times, product codes, weight etc. I would like to sum the tonnages of INcoming Products on certain dates but I'm unsure how to add criteria within formulas - possibly the Match function?

On the attached spreadsheet I would like cell B2 to show the sum of AUP01 brought INto the site on 15/05/13. It should read 6 (J1+J8)

    Thanks again...

Hi arthurphil and welcome to the forum,

See the attached where I've created a simple Pivot Table. I think this is what you are really asking for. There are lots of ways to display or accumulate your data with pivots. I hope this helps you look at your problem in a different way and solve it and many more easier.

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution.

Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.

To change a Title on your post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.

    Hi MarvinP,

Works perfectly - thank you very much.

It does however give me another problem... I've never even thought about using pivot tables and they look like they could help me a lot so I will now get engrossed in trying to work them out!

    Very grateful, thank you,

    Hi zbor,

Thanks for the heads up. I did read the forum rules but obviously didn't understand them well enough.

Sincere apologies, I will make amends in the future...
