    Data Dump and look up

This is what I would like to do. I will be dumping raw data every day into excel. Each line will have different dates with different data.
    I.e

Date : Name : Section: Time

    4-23-2012: Eric Johnston : E88 : 2hrs
    4-23-2012: Eric Johnston : E88 : 3hrs
    4-22-2012: Eric Johnston : E33 : 2hrs
    4-22-2012: Eric Johnston : E33 : 4hrs

I would like to know how long Eric worked in "section" E88 this week. I am having trouble showing "week 12" Eric worked in E88 for 5 hrs. Is there a formula to do this? I am also working with a fiscial year/weeks.

I'm thinking you need to add a column to the left with the formula
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Fill it down each day as you add data.
    Then have the formula
    Formula: copy to clipboard

You need to make sure your sum column does not include "hrs".

<edit>sorry, just noticed you are using excel 2003. SUMIFS came out in 2007 I believe.

    Hi isac,

This is a great place to use Pivot Tables. You will still need a week number column like Spitzerpl suggested above. If you can't figure it out then post a sample workbook and we can show you how..
