=IF only works the first time

I have this formula in L6 "=K6-J6+(K6<J6)", and cell L6 is formatted [mm].
    In cell I6 I have "=IF((L6<120), "0", "0:30")".
The current result of the formula in L6 is "107" and I6 shows "0".
If I change the value in K6 so that the result in L6 is "287", the result in I6 should be "0:30", but it remains "0", unless I manually enter "287" in L6.
Why? It should change automatically . . . is it the formatting?

I take it 120 is 120 mins or 2 hrs if so replace 120 with 1/12 ie 2/24 of a day
