Scan thru an array and create a new column with value if there is one other than #NA

    Dear Excel gurus

I have created a sheet which consists of Container number and series of item and counts which are the results of the vlookup from 3 different sheets. Now I would like to scan this matrix and create a another sheet with container no. and one item and count column which will have the actual values other than #NA.

How can I create this sheet? What formula/function should I use to create it?

    Thanks

You can skip the intermediary step of creating 3 separate VLOOKUPS in separate cells to separate columns. Put all 3 in a single cell using IFERROR to run each successive VLOOKUP until one doesn't error.

    1st formula: =VLOOKUP(A2, Sheet1!A:B, 2, 0)
    2nd formula: =VLOOKUP(A2, Sheet2!A:B, 2, 0)
    3rd formula: =VLOOKUP(A2, Sheet3!A:B, 2, 0)

Iferror used to nest all three in one cell:

    =IFERROR(IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A2, Sheet1!A:B, 2, 0), VLOOKUP(A2, Sheet2!A:B, 2, 0)), VLOOKUP(A2, Sheet3!A:B, 2, 0))
