I have searched and find some threads on the topic but I guess we use a different feet and inches format than othere do. Out format is as follows....
3'-4 7/16"
When no feet we use....
0'-4 7/16"
If only fraction of an inch are used we use...
3'-0 7/16"
Any help....?

I am sure there's an easier way than this, but it works
Assuming the measurement you want to convert is in cell A1, enter this in your output cell:
=CONVERT(LEFT(A1,FIND("'",A1)-1)*12+MID(A1,FIND("-",A1)+1,FIND(" ",A1)-FIND("-",A1)-1)+(MID(A1,FIND(" ",A1)+1,FIND("/",A1)-FIND(" ",A1)-1)/MID(A1,FIND("/",A1)+1,FIND(CHAR(34),A1)-FIND("/",A1)-1)),"in","cm")
Et voila!

Thank Ya'll very much.....Now is there an easy way for this function to read the cell to it's left instead of always A1.....? There are about 400 cells in a column I need to convert.

Paste the formula in the first row of the column to the right of your current measurements and change each instance of A1 to the relevant cell. So if your first measurement is in E2, paste the formula in F2 and change all the A1's to E2.
Then just copy it down and you're done.
