If you find the word UPDATED in a column i would like it to be counted

I know i know this formula but i cannot pull it out of my brain

please help me as soon as possible!

Col D i have cells that have the word Updated in them... this means i have updated that particular "asset"
At the end of sheet i have created a legend of sort that counts all that i have updated through out the week at a glance...

what is the formula for this?

the row again is D and starts with D2: D40 so far...

please help!
