Formula for Event happening every X Years

    Hello All,

I am new to the forum. If anyone could help me with the following, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'm creating a model and I'd like to raise rent every X years. To be specific, I have a cell that has rental rate and one that has increase interval and then a cell with growth rate. My spreadsheet is set up where every column is a month. 7/13, 8/13, 9/13, etc..

So the goal is to have rent increase after 2 years, remain constant for 2 years, rise again (same growth rate), remain constant for 2 more years, etc...

Can anyone help? I hope I am being clear. Please let me know if you have any quetsions.

    Thanks!

    Assuming:

    1) Dates in row1 starting at F1
    2) Starting date B2
    3) Starting rent is in C2
    4) Increase interval in months is in D2
    5) E2 is the percentage of increase from the base
    6) The formula in F2, copied to the right could be:

    =$C2*(1+(FLOOR((DATEDIF($B2,F$1,"m"))/$D2,1)*$E2))

Press F1 in Excel and read the builtin tutorial, lots of features to that function.
