    Forumla won't work

    I have a formula (see below) that works fine if I take out the part that says IF(M5="","","In Work" this part reacts to a column containing blanks and dates that are generated by a formula.

    =IF(A5="","",IF(D5>NOW(),"Awaiting Induction",IF(C5="Failed to Attend","Failed to Attend",IF(Q5>"","Exited",IF(P5="No","Unsuitable for FSF",IF(M5="","","In Work",IF(E5<NOW(),"Finished","On Programme")))))))

    Excel says that it contains to many arguments - I am using Excel 2010

    I would appreciate any help on this and alos if there is a shorter way of doing this.

    A column contains Names
    C column contains Activity Type

    Thanks in advance

    ,IF(Q5>"","Exited" this doesn't seem like a valid argument. It can't be greater than "nothing".

    Greater than a blank cell is how it should be. Any ideas on the date section not working?

    Any particular reason why your thread is in WORD section?

    =IF(A5="","",IF(D5>NOW(),"Awaiting Induction",IF(C5="Failed to Attend","Failed to Attend",IF(Q5<>"","Exited",IF(P5="No","Unsuitable for FSF",IF(M5="","",IF(M5<>"","In Work",IF(E5<NOW(),"Finished","On Programme"))))))))

    You are welcome. Thanks for the feed back.

    Also as the Mod/Admin that mooved this Thread from Word section to Excel Formulas section, did not let a note for this(as i asked for), i have to say that this thread was in Word section.
