Keeping a running total which set to equal two cells

Hi Everybody, I am new to this forum. My question is that it’s possible to enter value in one cell and another cell which I have already set to equal then it continues to calculate. Example I set A1 = A2(I want A2 continue to calculate whenever I enter value in A1). I would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

    dont understand

A1 is set to equal A2 with the formula
    =A2

so there is a formula in A1 which will be the same value as whatever is in A2

now if you enter a value into A1 - you will be overwriting the =A2 formula and so A1 will just be the value you enter into A1
    what happens in A2 ?
    is there a formula in A2 ?

in example spreadsheet with the required outcome would help
