Keeping the First and Last Row of a Specific Cell Type in a Column

    Hi.

I have a large list of 10,000 lines.

In one of my columns (the left column down below), I have a list of names where a Name/Code repeats and other times where it does not.

In the other column, I have a date for each Name/Code (right column below). So, it looks like this:

    Row 1 ------------ 1234JohnSmith ------------ 1/12/12

    Row 2 ------------ 1234JohnSmith ------------ 4/15/12

    Row 3 ------------ 1234JohnSmith ------------ 1/15/13

    Row 4 ------------ 9999JohnSmith ------------ 1/12/12

    Row 5 ------------ 9999JohnSmith ------------ 4/15/12

    Row 6 ------------ 9999JohnSmith ------------ 1/15/13

    Row 7 ------------ 6464JaneDoe ------------ 6/12/13

    Row 8 ------------ 6464JaneDoe ------------ 7/1/13

    Row 9 ------------ 0001BillGreen ------------ 1/1/13

    Row 10 ------------ 4321JeffBrown ------------ 2/15/13

So, in the case of Rows 1-6 (John Smith rows), I need to delete Row 2 and Row 5, because I only need the 1st and last dates for each Name/Code. Fundamentally, there should only be 1 to 2 rows per Name/Code.

Or another way to put it, I only need the ends of the Name/Code – within the column. If there are 1 or 2 rows for any Name/Code, there needs to be no deletion.

For the cases of Rows 7-10, I do NOT need to delete any of the rows. This is the case, because the Name/Code correspondence does not have 3 dates or more.

    Please help!
