    Help with index match/countif?

Hey guys, I am having trouble grabbing data. I hope I explain this well. I am trying to pull from the sheet "data (2)" the names highlighted in yellow to the sheet "names".

Column K in "names" tab will be changed from time to time. Added or deleted so I figured I would leave that blank and I can add as needed. I have column A confirming the names in column K. Then I want C to pull the number of names found in column K.

I hope this wasnt to confusing.

As always thanks for your help and time.Book4.xls

I meant just the names. I am not worried about the numbers yet. That will come in later.

Right now I just need excel to look at the names and total the amount it finds to the right. In the names column.

    Thanks for your help

Then post the result in your file, so we can take a look at it, how you want it.

    Re: Help with index match/countif?

Alright, sorry for delayed responses. Again, I want it to pull the names in column D, in the "data" tab, that are highlighted in yellow. I have them referencing the names on the right in the "pulled data" tab. I think currently I am making it more complicated than it needs to be.

    Thanks for help.

    Hi,

Sorry - what do you mean by 'pull' the names? Do you mean that, actually, the pulled data tab is empty and you would like to see all names highlighted in yellow in the Data tab appear in this tab?

What criteria have you used to highlight them yellow? Do they share something in common elsewhere in the tab that could be used as the criterion in the pulling formula, apart from the cell colour?

I just highlighted them for myself. The column on the right where I pull those specific names, is what the formula it should be looking for. If it finds those names in the column to the right, count the amount it finds.

    Thanks
